The day that was.

The sun sets
The wind blows
The breeze melts
The fears I make
I look at the door
The one you stood
Just moments ago

My heart beats one
And two
And three
And once again

The scene resembles rain
That you wish should end
But the effect makes you
Wish the otherwise

I sit on the couch
My chest makes a heave
My tongue laced with cream
Cream that leaves
A soothing effect
I feel we are abreast
Close together
My eyes close
I see you close
My hands I close
I feel no one there
I remember the day
If my heart were a tray
I could see what is there.

I see you speak
As I pen this poem
I feel your touch
I pause……
I write again
I look at the door
Open ajar.

My face curls into a smile
Sad though
I feel my fingers race on this
I watch the photos we took
The more the words I roll
The darker it falls
But my vision does not
My heart beats
My neck feels your touch
I feel a smell in my nose
The fragrance you carry
I love you
I miss you too
